At a time when the world is in turmoil, when people are revolting, when the future is uncertain, it's important to take a deep breath.
Remember, none of this is in your hands. Calm down. Relax. Make the most of the changes in your life.
We are in control of our own actions, and nothing else. We can only keep in mind the positive and negative effects of ourselves. Change is unpredictable and uncontrollable. Instead of trying to fight out your situation, try and do something NEW.
In an age where it seems like we never have time to do anything, take some time to d what you want. Withdraw from what causes you anxiety. Show appreciation for those around you. Try out something new. But you don't need to be pressured into doing anything.
Let me share my own experiences. I've been painting my entire house, from the dining room to the basement, using the resources available to me. I spend time with my family, doing things we love, and with my friends, staying in touch even if we aren't quite together. I've been on walks in nature, observing animals too shy to come out before, and hearing birds chirp boldly in the early morning, without a care as to who is listening.
Humanity's survived for thousands of years, but so has nature. Understand coronavirus and the dangers it poses, but don't lose faith in your community. We've lived through pandemics before. We can do it again. And with the resources and tools we have at our disposal, we can do it more efficiently than before.
So stop moping. Stop worrying. Start doing and using the time you have now. None of this is in your control, but set yourself up to benefit from the changes in your life, not to waste the opportunities you have now. Adapt and thrive. Don't waste your time worrying because before you know it, this time will be gone.
